Acceptance of Terms
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Kora platform — whether as a customer, reseller, or visitor — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement under Cameroonian law, including Law No. 2010/021 of 21 December 2010 on Electronic Commerce in Cameroon.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Kora, in accordance with the legal age of majority under Cameroonian civil law. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
Bilingual Platform
Kora operates in both English and French, reflecting Cameroon's bilingual heritage. In the event of any conflict between the English and French versions of these Terms, the English version shall prevail for English-speaking users and the French version for French-speaking users.
Updates to Terms
Kora reserves the right to update these Terms at any time in compliance with applicable Cameroonian legislation. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Accounts & Registration
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify Kora immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. Unauthorised access to computer systems is a criminal offence under Law No. 2010/012 of 21 December 2010 on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime in Cameroon.
Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated at all times. Providing false information may constitute fraud under the Cameroonian Penal Code.
National Identity
Kora may request verification of your identity using a valid Cameroonian National Identity Card (CNI), passport, or other government-issued identification as required by applicable anti-money laundering regulations.
One Account Per Person
Each individual may maintain only one customer account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse promotions is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension.
Purchasing & Orders
Order Confirmation
Placing an order on Kora constitutes an offer to purchase under the provisions of Law No. 2010/021 on Electronic Commerce. An order is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation notification from Kora. We reserve the right to cancel orders due to stock unavailability or pricing errors.
Pricing & Currency
All prices are displayed in XAF (Franc CFA d'Afrique Centrale / Central African CFA Franc), the official currency of Cameroon as a member of the CEMAC (Communauté Économique et Monétaire de l'Afrique Centrale) zone. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery fees are calculated at checkout based on your delivery zone.
Taxes & Levies
Prices displayed may include Value Added Tax (TVA/VAT) at the applicable rate set by the Cameroonian tax authority (Direction Générale des Impôts). Kora complies with all applicable tax obligations under Cameroonian fiscal law.
Payment Methods
Kora accepts Mobile Money (MTN MoMo) and Orange Money, the leading mobile payment platforms in Cameroon regulated by the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) and the Ministry of Finance. Payment must be completed before an order is processed. Kora does not store your payment credentials or mobile money PIN.
Delivery
Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary based on your location within Cameroon and product availability. Kora is not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including road conditions, public holidays, or force majeure events.
Consumer Rights & Protection
Cameroonian Consumer Protection
Your rights as a consumer are protected under Cameroonian law, including Law No. 98/004 of 14 April 1998 and applicable OHADA (Organisation pour l'Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires) uniform acts governing commercial transactions. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.
Right to Information
In accordance with Law No. 2010/021 on Electronic Commerce, Kora provides clear and accurate product descriptions, pricing, and delivery information before you complete a purchase. You have the right to be fully informed before committing to a transaction.
Product Quality
All products sold on Kora must meet applicable quality and safety standards as defined by ANOR (Agence des Normes et de la Qualité du Cameroun). Kora does not knowingly list counterfeit, substandard, or prohibited goods.
Returns & Refunds
Return Eligibility
Products may be returned within 48 hours of delivery if they are defective, damaged, or significantly different from the product description, consistent with consumer protection principles applicable in Cameroon. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.
Non-Returnable Items
Perishable goods, personal hygiene products, and items marked as final sale are not eligible for return. Digital products and services are non-refundable once delivered.
Refund Process
Approved refunds are credited to your Kora wallet within 3–5 business days. Wallet credits can be used for future purchases or withdrawn to your MTN MoMo or Orange Money account.
How to Initiate a Return
Contact our support team via the Help Center or call +237 671 409 515 within the return window. Provide your order number and a description of the issue. Support is available in both English and French.
Reseller Terms
Reseller Status
Resellers are independent commercial agents who use the Kora platform to market and sell products. Resellers are not employees, agents, or partners of Kora. This relationship is governed by applicable OHADA commercial law and Cameroonian labour law, which does not create an employment relationship.
Business Registration
Resellers operating as a business entity in Cameroon are encouraged to comply with applicable registration requirements under Cameroonian commercial law, including registration with the Centre de Formalités de Création d'Entreprises (CFCE) where applicable.
Pricing & Profit
Resellers may set their own selling prices above the base product cost set by Kora. The difference between the selling price and the base cost constitutes the reseller's profit. Resellers must not engage in price-fixing or anti-competitive practices prohibited under Cameroonian competition law.
Prohibited Conduct
Resellers may not misrepresent products, make false claims, engage in deceptive marketing, or violate any applicable consumer protection laws of Cameroon. Violations may result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to relevant authorities.
Earnings & Withdrawals
Reseller earnings are credited to their Kora wallet upon confirmed delivery. Withdrawals are processed to MTN MoMo or Orange Money accounts and are subject to Kora's current withdrawal policies and minimum thresholds.
Referral Programme
Resellers who refer new resellers to the platform may earn referral commissions as outlined in the current referral programme terms. Commission structures are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Prohibited Activities
Fraud & Abuse
You may not use Kora to commit fraud, process fraudulent payments, or engage in any activity that harms other users, resellers, or the platform. Fraud is a criminal offence under the Cameroonian Penal Code and Law No. 2010/012 on Cybercrime.
Cybercrime
Any unauthorised access, hacking, phishing, or interference with Kora's systems is strictly prohibited and constitutes a criminal offence under Law No. 2010/012 of 21 December 2010 on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime in Cameroon, punishable by imprisonment and/or fines.
Intellectual Property
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Kora platform without express written permission. This includes product images, descriptions, and branding. Intellectual property rights are protected under Cameroonian law and the OAPI (Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle) treaty, to which Cameroon is a signatory.
Prohibited Goods
The platform may not be used to sell or facilitate the sale of goods prohibited under Cameroonian law, including but not limited to: counterfeit goods, narcotics, weapons, wildlife products protected under Cameroonian environmental law, or any goods subject to import/export restrictions.

Kora complies with Cameroonian anti-money laundering regulations and GABAC (Groupe d'Action contre le Blanchiment d'Argent en Afrique Centrale) directives. Any suspicious financial activity will be reported to the relevant authorities.
